New play program

We have concluded accepting new works submissions. for the 2025 season.

The Basics: focus on female identifying characters and keep it simple. The nitty gritty details are below.                                      

1. Focus - Your work should focus on its female characters. We welcome the inclusion of male and non-binary characters, but our mission is to produce more theatre in Columbus that focuses on and celebrates people who identify as female.
   

2. Themes - We celebrate women at eMBer. Our past productions have focused on female relationships and the strength and resiliency of women. That’s our thing. We’re looking for work that speaks to that message. 
   

3. Tech - Your play should have limited technical requirements. Without a brick and mortar home, we work out of a lot of small, black box theaters. Keep it simple!
   

4. Length - Your play must be full length play between 90 minutes and 120 minutes for potential full production.
   

5. Cast Size - We have no restriction on cast size. We’ve produced shows with casts from 5 to 12. We’ve clutched one woman shows dearly and asked “Is this the year?” We’ll consider scripts with all cast sizes. 
   

6. Formatting - Please include your first and last name and email address on the front of your script. We need to know who you are and how we can get ahold of you! Also, please submit all scripts in PDF format. Please name your PDF file the title of your script.
